Round the World 2007

Our adventure driving from the UK to the southern tip of India and back again....

One Sunday in August 2004, we were driving back to London after a long weekend away. We spotted an old VW camper van heading north on the M1 and we spent the rest of the journey talking about how great it would be to get in a van and drive east, pretty much wherever the road takes you. So that's what we did.... one wedding, one van purchase and two test runs to Scotland later (the first in an old VW camper van, true to the plan, and the second in our final choice of a more reliable 2006 version VW camper). After months of planning, in April 2007 we finally drove off into the sunset (actually, we drove to Newcastle to catch a ferry) to go on our great adventure, which would see us driving from the UK through Scandanavia; Eastern Europe; Ukraine and Russia; Central Asia; Pakistan and down to the very southern tip of India.... before coming back via Turkey and the Balkans some 11 months after we set off.

This website was set up so that we could stay in touch with family and friends via a weblog and photo diary. In the end, lots of people have been looking at the site: thank you all for your interest!
